Bosnia and Herzegovina celebrated against Croatia at the start of the Sitting Volleyball Golden Nations League

(Patria) - The Bosnia and Herzegovina national sitting volleyball team started their participation in the Golden Nations League, held in Sarajevo, with a victory. In the match against Croatia, our team won with the result 3:0, marking the best possible start to the competition for the team led by Ifet Mahmutović, in which they are defending the title of the best national team in Europe.

The first set passed without major problems for BiH, as they won 25:15. In the second set, the Croatian national team players woke up and had an active score until the very end, but the experience of the BiH team prevailed, leading to a 25:22 win for BiH in the third set. In the third set, the match was tied until the middle, but towards the end of the game, the BiH national team players increased their intensity and won 25:15.

Mirzet Duran, a member of the BiH team, commented on the team's performance and expectations in the upcoming matches at the end of the game.

“Every first match is always among the toughest; these are our old opponents, we have played many times. A difficult match, a good opponent, they had a good and positive result several times, but we played our game and won. In the continuation of the competition, we expect increasingly tougher matches; tonight we play against Serbia, and tomorrow we have two extremely strong matches, against Poland and especially Germany. With eventual victories, we would finish 90% of this tournament.

Of course, in the last match, we play against the participants of the Paralympic Games, the national team of Ukraine, which has come with its strongest lineup, so this match will be like a grand final,” said Duran.

Expectations from the BiH team in this competition are high, and besides this competition being a prelude to the Paralympic Games in Paris, a special moment for Bosnia and Herzegovina is the opportunity to win their fourth title in front of a home crowd.

“We have trained for almost a whole year and had intensive preparations in the last seven days. We believe we can defend the title and win the fourth trophy,” Duran added at the end.

We remind you that the Golden Nations League competition is being held in Sarajevo from May 24th to 26th, and the best European national teams are participating in the tournament. Today, the first matches were played between Serbia and Poland (3:1), and Ukraine and Germany (2:3). The competition continues with matches between Germany and Poland, and Croatia and Ukraine, while Bosnia and Herzegovina will play their second match tonight at 8 PM against the national team of Serbia.
