Bosna demonstrates power over Bulgarians in Zetra, Students in FIBA Europe Cup Top 16

(Patria) - Sarajevo's Bosna basketball players played perhaps their most energetic game of the season in front of a well-filled Zetra arena and defeated Bulgarian Rilski Sportist in the 6th round of the FIBA Europe Cup.

It was a game that offered a great rhythm, several spectacular plays, and another memorable performance by Chase Audige. The final score of the game was 91:64, writes Sportsport.ba.

Bosna started the game a bit nervously, and the guests from Samokov seemed fresher in the opening minutes. Edwards quickly showed he would be the main threat, scoring several early points for Rilski and giving them the first lead.

The Students responded through Audige, who was already filling the Bulgarians' basket in the first quarter and keeping Bosna in the game.

The first quarter ended with a three-pointer by Jarrod West at the buzzer, giving them a 25:21 lead. The energy then began to rise.



In the second quarter, the home team pulled away thanks to the dedication of Đoko Šalić and a beautiful Atić-Šalić play for an alley-oop that got the crowd on its feet.

However, Edwards continued to be flawless on offense, and Bosna's slower rhythm at one point allowed the guests to come back and reduce the deficit to 42:32 before halftime.

The third quarter was a series of mini-runs. Bosna started perfectly - Audige and Halilović for a quick 4:0, but Rilski kept up through a motivated Vasov.

Zetra erupted with a monstrous block by Edin Atić, and then with his assist for another Audige three-pointer.



The guests tried to respond, but Bosna tightened up again at the end of the third quarter and went up by 13 points after Šalić made both free throws.

And then - a memorable fourth quarter. Bosna flew across the court in a frenzy. Delalić's perfect footwork, Šalić's miniatures in the low post, and Audige's incredible run - all of it broke the game open. Atić hit from "downtown".

Delalić played with ovations as if in the best form of his career, and Bosna looked unstoppable at both ends of the court. The crowd was already enjoying every move, and the lead grew to over 20 points.

Rilski tried with a short run, but Bosna calmly brought the game to an end. It was a victory of style, energy, and confidence, exactly what the Students needed before continuing their European adventure.



The most effective player for Bosna tonight was the phenomenal Chase Audige with 28 points on 9/14 shooting from the field and six made three-pointers.

He was followed by the motivated Đoko Šalić with 16, as well as Edin Atić who scored 7 points, dished out seven assists, had seven rebounds, and two blocks.

Miralem Halilović added 6 points with a great defensive contribution, while Jarrod West had 4 points and 5 assists.

For Rilski, Edwards was brilliant with 22 points, while Vasov and Stokes tried to match his rhythm, but not enough to threaten the motivated Students.

The Students finished the group stage with a record of 4 wins and 2 losses, thus qualifying for the second part of the competition, the FIBA Europe Cup Top 16.
