Partizan defeated Bosna in Belgrade and took the lead in the ABA League quarter-final series

(Patria) - The basketball players of Sarajevo's Bosna were defeated tonight in Belgrade by Partizan with a score of 81:73 in the first game of the ABA League quarter-final playoff series.

The black and whites thus took the lead in the series and now need only one more win to advance to the semi-finals, while Bosna will have a chance to respond in the next match.

The home team had a very poor start to the game and failed to score any points in the first five minutes, but the Students did not manage to capitalize on this to a greater extent, leading only 10:2.

Although Bosna maintained a lead close to double digits for some time, Partizan quickly found its rhythm and reduced the deficit to 18:13 by the end of the first quarter.

At the beginning of the second period, the hosts managed to equalize, and then take their first lead (21:20).

A period of play followed in which the teams exchanged points, until Partizan made a run before halftime and took an 8-point lead (40:32).

In the third quarter, Partizan further increased the tempo and reached a double-digit lead in the middle of that period (51:40).

Calathes played a key role in that part of the game, leading the hosts to a comfortable 63:47 lead after three quarters.

Although it seemed that the winner was decided, Bosna did not give up. With a three-pointer by Plummer four minutes before the end, the visitors came within 68:63, bringing uncertainty to the finish.

However, Partizan repelled Bosna's attacks in the crucial moments, and two consecutive three-pointers by Washington definitively broke the game.

Washington was the most effective player for the winners with 19 points, Calathes added 16, and Brown had 14. For Bosna, Halilović, Šalić, and Plummer each scored 10 points.

The second game of the series will be played on Sunday in the Zetra hall starting at 5:00 PM, writes arenasport.
