Bosnians and Herzegovinians "occupy" Vienna, national team songs heard at every turn

(Patria) - Bosnians and Herzegovinians have begun to "occupy" Vienna, ahead of the decisive match our national football team plays against Austria tomorrow evening.

The Dragons will certainly have huge support from the stands, and the fans will once again be our twelfth player.

Sergej Barbarez's team at the "Ernst-Happel" stadium in Vienna is expected to be cheered on by between 20,000 and 25,000 fans, who are arriving in the Austrian capital from all over the world.

Hurem Avdić, who recently opened an agency in Vienna with the aim of strengthening ties between BiH and the diaspora, points out that such an atmosphere has never prevailed in Vienna before a sporting event.



- This has never happened before. At every turn in Vienna, songs of our fans can already be heard. Bosnians and Herzegovinians are arriving from all corners of the world. BiH flags and scarves are waving.

I welcomed friends who came for the match from Switzerland, Germany, America, but also from Sarajevo, Zenica, and Visoko. Among them is our popular folk music singer Enes Begović. We all have only one wish, and that is victory and qualification for the World Cup - says Avdić.

- Since Sunday, our establishment has been all about Bosnia and Herzegovina. We are constantly playing hits by Dino Merlin, Halid Bešlić, Enes Begović, as well as fan songs.

We hope and believe that we will have a reason to celebrate tomorrow after 11 PM, and we have already prepared appropriate music - says one of the caterers, Kenan Schafhausen Jusić.

Belaj Boysi, led by Damir Delić Pireli, a BiH rapper who lives and works in Vienna, and who released the fan song "World Champion" a few days ago, organized a flare-lighting event last night with about 50 fans who arrived from Tuzla.
