(Patria) - Borac footballers opened the new season in the WWin league of Bosnia and Herzegovina with a convincing 6-0 victory against Rudar from Prijedor.
The arrival of the new coach Vinko Marinović has clearly benefited the Borac team, which previously had a major setback in Europe. Rudar did not perform well in the first round of the elite competition under coach Perica Ognjenović, a former star of Crvena Zvezda.
Borac took the lead in the seventh minute when Luka Juričić scored after a cross from Sebastian Herrera, and in the 36th minute, David Vuković scored the second goal for Borac. It was already clear that the points would stay in Banja Luka.
The score remained unchanged until halftime, and Vuković settled all doubts, if there ever were any, with his second goal in the 57th minute.
From the end of the match, Borac managed to "fill" the Prijedor team's net to the brim. Juričić scored again for 4-0, assisted by Herrera, before Karlo Perić and David Čavić scored in the final minutes for the final 6-0.
In the last match of Sunday's program of the 1st round of the BiH Premier League, Željezničar and Radnik played to a 1-1 draw at the Grbavica stadium.
The visitors from Bijeljina took the lead in the 3rd minute after a major mistake by the Željo defense, and Čumić was the scorer. Željezničar then took the initiative and equalized in the 36th minute with a goal from Šošić.
In the second half, Željezničar dominated but failed to secure a victory. Krpić missed the biggest chance in the 70th minute when he failed to convert a penalty – his shot was saved by goalkeeper Trako.
In the next round, Željezničar will visit Posušje, while Radnik will come to Sarajevo again, this time against FK Sarajevo.
