Borac defeated in the Faroe Islands, but the final decision will be made on the Vrbas

(Patria) - In the first match of the third qualifying round of the Europa League, BiH champion Borac played away in the Faroe Islands against the country's champion, KI Klaksvik. The match ended with a score of 2:1 in favour of the Faroe Islands champions.

The start of the match belonged to the hosts. Luck for Borac in the fifth minute, a great chance for the hosts, Arni Frederiksberg hit the post. A minute later, another great chance for Klaksvik, Danielsen shot brilliantly, Šiškovski saved Borac.

In the tenth minute, the home team celebrated. Pall Klettskard took advantage of a big mistake by Zoran Kvržić and scored to give the home team a 1:0 lead.

Borac had their first chance in the 20th minute, but Lukić did not handle the end of the action well. In the 31st minute, luck for Borac, after a scramble in front of the hosts' goal, the ball bounced off goalkeeper Jensen into the net, making it 1:1.

Five minutes later, real drama. First, Herrera received a red card after VAR review, and Borac was left with one player less. Immediately from the next attack, Klaksvik scored to make it 2:1, the scorer was Kristoffer Odemarksbakken.

In the 43rd minute, luck for the home team, after a set piece, Grahovac hit the crossbar, the score remained 2:1 for Klaksvik, which was also the result at halftime.

In the second half, Borac's first chance came in the 49th minute, but Vukčević's attempt was blocked.

After that, there was a quiet period of play, not many excitements, a lot of fighting in the midfield, there were some attempts, but it was all fruitless.

In the 82nd minute, Klettskard shot, Šiškovski saved, and that was the hosts' first shot in the second half of tonight's match.

There were no changes to the score by the end of the match, it remained 2:1 for Klaksvik, who thus bring a one-goal advantage to Banja Luka next week.

Let us remind you, the winner of this two-leg tie will advance to the Europa League play-off and secure at least the Conference League group stage, while the defeated team will go to the Conference League play-off and seek another chance for the group stage.
