Battle for Europe goes to the Bordeaux team: Sarajevo secure against Željezničar in the 155th eternal derby

(Patria) - Sarajevo footballers defeated Željezničar at the Asim Ferhatović Hase stadium in the 28th round of the Wwin league 2:1, thus strengthening their third position which guarantees a place in Europe, regardless of the outcome in the Cup final.

At the largest stadium in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the 155th eternal derby was played, and Sarajevo deservedly achieved victory by scoring one goal in each half.

Already in the first minute, a chance for the visitors, but Rogić followed the situation well and collected the ball in front of Boljević, after Krpić had brilliantly set him up. Sarajevo threatened in the 11th minute, after a great move, Lulić went one-on-one with Muftić, but the latter made a great save.

In the 15th minute, the first corner for the home team, after which Pavičić shot, but it was very weak. Two minutes later, Muftić followed the action well, ran out in time and reached the ball before Gordeziani.

Sarajevo had a big chance in the 18th minute, when Kuprešak crossed from the left, Lulić headed from five meters, and the ball went wide of the goal. In the 24th minute, another good chance for Sarajevo, Lulić shot well, but the visitors' goalkeeper Muftić stood out again.

Radovac tried a spectacular scissor kick in the 33rd minute, but only to Rogić, and on the other side, Kyeremeh shot from 15 meters straight at Muftić.

Sarajevo took the lead in the 39th minute. After a great move by the Bordeaux team, Mahmić intervened poorly and the ball came to Kyeremeh, his shot was saved by Muftić, then Marković reacted badly, and Kyeremeh from the second attempt and with the "help" of Mahmić beat Muftić.

At the very beginning of the second half, a penalty was awarded for Sarajevo. In the tenth second of the continuation, Cavnić fouled Kyeremeh and offered a chance to the home team, and they, through Gordeziani, took a big 2:0 lead.

Sarajevo was much more relaxed until the end, the visitors were under pressure and tried to get out of an almost impossible situation. In the 64th minute, a great header by Krpić, but Rogić made a fantastic save and sent the ball to a corner. Shortly after, Boljević crossed, and another header went over Rogić's goal.

A great move by the Blues in the 71st minute, Al Jaber took on two players and assisted Boljević who sent the ball into the net, reducing the deficit to 2:1.

Pavičić could have sealed everything in the 82nd minute. A counterattack by the home team, Kyeremeh went down the right side, brilliantly set up Pavičić, but Muftić saved and deflected the ball to another corner. Bubanja had a chance in the 83rd minute, but shot over the goal from close range.

In the 85th minute, another incredible save by Muftić, when he saved a sure goal from Turkeš. A pity for him and the visitors, as his teammates did not reward him with at least one more goal in Sarajevo's net and at least one point.

After this match, Sarajevo is now firmly in third place with 57 points, while Željezničar has 53 points. The Bordeaux team also has a chance to win the trophy as they play the Cup final against Široki, and if they win it, Željezničar would go to Europe as the fourth-placed team.
