BiH to play Austria, Romania, Cyprus, and San Marino in 2026 World Cup qualifiers

(Patria) - The Bosnia and Herzegovina national football team has learned its opponents in the qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup.

The number of participants in this World Cup will increase to 36, and Europe will thus get an additional 16 European selections.

In order for the popular Dragons to find their way there. They will have to be in the top two positions in a group with: Austria, Romania, Cyprus, and San Marino.

The national teams will compete in 12 groups of four or five selections this time.

Each group winner will go directly to the World Cup, and thus 12 selections will have their place in the USA, Mexico, and Canada.

The remaining four places will be obtained through playoffs.

Namely, the 12 second-placed teams in the qualifiers with the four best group winners from the Nations League who did not qualify will compete in the aforementioned playoff.

The World Cup qualifiers will be played from March 2025 to November.
