BiH's top exports last year were electricity and insulated wire/cables, while imports were dominated by oil and cars

(Patria) - The Council of Ministers of BiH, upon the proposal of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations, adopted the Analysis of BiH's Foreign Trade Exchange for 2025 at today's session, which confirms the growth of total trade.

BiH's total trade in goods last year amounted to 46.93 billion KM, of which the value of exported goods was 16.97 billion KM, and imported goods was 29.95 billion KM, while the foreign trade deficit was 12.98 billion KM.

Exports from BiH increased by 5.59 percent, while imports of goods into BiH increased by 4.53 percent compared to 2024, so the coverage of imports by exports increased by 0.57 percent and amounts to 56.67 percent.

Last year, Bosnia and Herzegovina's top exports were electricity (valued at 868.8 million KM), insulated wire/cables (732.3 million KM), iron or steel structures and their parts (575.8 million KM), parts and accessories for motor and towing vehicles (541.9 million KM), and other furniture and its parts (451.3 million KM).

At the same time, last year's top imports into BiH were petroleum oils, other than crude (valued at 2.18 billion KM), passenger cars (1.36 billion KM), medicines (786.1 million KM), and electricity (629 million KM).

Bosnia and Herzegovina exported goods worth 12.40 billion KM to EU countries, which is 5.56 percent more than in 2024, while imports amounted to 17.41 billion KM and are 2.69 percent higher compared to the previous year.

In 2025, a deficit in trade in goods with EU countries was recorded at five billion KM, which is 3.78 percent less than the deficit in 2024.

Exports to CEFTA countries amounted to 2.96 billion KM, which is 6.43 percent more than the previous year, while imports amounted to 3.66 billion KM and are 6.17 percent higher compared to 2024.

Exports to other countries accounted for 9.46 percent of BiH's total exports, while imports from other countries accounted for 29.67 percent of BiH's total imports.
