(Patria) - Bosnian representative in ITF taekwondo Mehmed Krupić won a gold medal today at the World ITF Taekwondo Championship held in Poreč in the junior category up to 75 kilograms.
Krupić reached the gold medal with impressive victories, successively defeating representatives from the Czech Republic (Šimon Peter), Germany (Bakurov Rodion), Ireland (Lynch Matthew), Slovenia (Peperko Patrik), and in the final Spain (Mencia Soler Lucas).
With this success, our representatives confirmed that Bosnia and Herzegovina has exceptional young talents in taekwondo, who can stand at the very top of the world. Their fighting spirit and sportsmanship have earned them a deserved gold medal and a place among the best in the world.
Earlier today, during the first day of the World Championship, Melina Ružić also won a gold medal in the junior category up to 61 kilograms.
- After every effort and sacrifice, the result will come sooner or later, it is only important to be persistent and persevere on that path. I am glad that we have represented Bosnia and Herzegovina in the most beautiful way with this historic result - said Bećo Durdžić, coach of Melina and Mehmed.
Otherwise, the World Championship in ITF taekwondo, which began today in the Žantika hall in Poreč, gathered almost 2,500 participants from 57 countries around the world, and will last until October 11.
