(Patria) - The regular reporting Assembly of the Bicycle Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina was held in Mostar, attended by representatives of clubs and
athletes from across the country.
The Assembly began with a ceremonial part, during which the best cyclists were awarded trophies for outstanding sports results in 2024. The best athletes in the elite categories this year were Lejla Njemčević and Vedad Karić, and it should be particularly noted that Lejla brought the first European medal to Bosnia and Herzegovina in 2024. Alongside them, it is certainly worth emphasizing that significant successes were also achieved in younger categories, where talented male and female cyclists continue to pave their way towards top-level sport.
After the ceremonial part, a presentation of the innovative Rolla application was held, with which the Bicycle Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina plans to establish cooperation. This application brings numerous opportunities for clubs and their members, including activity tracking, virtual training, and participation in various competitions.
The company director, Igor Krezić, expressed a desire to personally meet the best cyclists and their clubs, and to present the application's functionalities to them in detail, highlighting its potential for improving club operations and providing additional motivation for members, as well as enabling easier access and monitoring of training. This presentation generated great interest among both athletes and clubs, and the implementation of this cooperation is planned to begin early next year.
The President of the Bicycle Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Toni Zorić, emphasized the importance of this cooperation and stated: "Today's Assembly of the Federation proved to be an excellent opportunity to present the Rolla application to all cycling clubs in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which will enable them to have better training, connectivity with other clubs and athletes in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and monitoring of their members' activities. We believe that Rolla will contribute to motivation and greater affirmation of athletes in clubs through a system of activity tracking and competitions.
Our goal is to have a strategic partner like Rolla, which will support cycling as a sport. We believe that by the end of 2025, we will be able to organize virtual competitions among clubs, thereby becoming, alongside the UCI, the first Federation in Europe, and I believe in the world, to have managed to organize something like that. Rolla is a domestic BiH product that is available to us, and our joint cooperation can bring great benefits not only to athletes but also to the development of cycling as a sport in general."
In the official part of the Assembly, President Toni Zorić submitted a comprehensive report on the Federation's work during 2024, which was unanimously adopted.
It was emphasized that 2024 was an extremely challenging year, yet despite this, numerous significant projects were successfully implemented, ties with international institutions were improved, and Bosnia and Herzegovina was presented as a country of sport.
