Bosnian skier Elvedina Muzaferija wins points in World Cup

(Patria) - Elvedina Muzaferija, the best Bosnian and Herzegovinian alpine skier, opened the new Audi FIS World Cup season in the downhill discipline today with a good run in St. Moritz, where she finished 19th at the finish line from start position 28, and finished 24th in the final race standings. The best of a total of 58 competitors from fifteen countries who competed today was Alice Robinson with a time of 1:14.84. The second position was taken by Romane Miradoli, and the third by Sofia Goggia.

Elvedina Muzaferija had a time of 1:16.69, or 1.85 seconds behind the winner of today's competition, which brought her seven important FIS points at the start of the season.

"I am satisfied, there were a few mistakes, the run was not excellent, but this is a great relief for me and the team, because we know that the form is there and we are just waiting for when I will put together a good run from start to finish. I am really looking forward to next weekend and the downhill and Super-G races in Val d’Isère," says Muzaferija.

The first downhill races were also held in St. Moritz, Switzerland, over the past two days, in which Muzaferija did not manage to enter the top thirty and from which she enters the next weekend more prepared from experience, which is reserved for a new downhill and Super-G in the FIS World Cup calendar in alpine skiing. The competition will be held on December 20 and 21 in the French ski resort of Val d’Isère.
