Bećiragić: Grateful to God, the guys, and the audience

(Patria) - Head coach of the senior men's basketball team Adis Bećiragić, after the triumph over Croatia, thanked his players and the audience who were up to the task and good hosts.

"I regret that we didn't execute some defensive aspects in Zagreb, thanks to the players and this audience," was the first reaction of head coach Bećiragić for Sportklub.

Bećiragić thanked the Croatians for the welcome in Zagreb and expressed pride that the same measure was returned in Sarajevo.

"When we entered the locker room, we said it was good that it was a draw, that if we had made the difference in the second quarter, we might have lost. We made the difference at a moment when they could no longer do it."

He highlighted the hellish atmosphere in the Mirza Delibašić hall, which is a temple of basketball.

"Where do the players get their energy from? Just look at this here, even a dead player would come to life, let alone a living one," said the experienced expert, adding:

"I am grateful to God, to these guys, you saw how they played, this is not normal."

BiH has a better head-to-head record against Croatia, and in February, they have matches against France and Cyprus. A victory against Cyprus would be enough, but only if Croatia loses to France.

"I just wish that everything in February is fair and honest, that's been on my mind for three days."

"Imagine how this will look with Jusuf Nurkić and a new American if we, of course, go to the Eurobasket."

"I think this generation has huge potential, and it would be a shame if we don't go to the Eurobasket," added Bećiragić.

At the press conference, Bećiragić and Adin Vrabac addressed the media.

Vrabac said they were happy about the victory and that they showed what a good team they are, and that this victory is also important for the numerous audience that always supports them.

The head coach listed that several players had injuries, but that everyone gave their maximum and that he wants to thank each of the players.

"Amar Gegić started in the second half. And that happened in the third quarter," said Bećiragić.

"When Kenan Kamenjaš sent a picture of his leg, we thought it would be seven to ten days, but he said, 'Coach, don't worry, I'll be ready.' Amar Gegić has a swelling on his heel like an egg; he has therapy in the morning and plays in the evening. Adin had an extremely difficult psychological moment; his mother suddenly fell ill. Neither this Basketball Federation, nor this country, nor this nation, because there is no need, can repay them. We played against an extremely strong national team, and only we among ourselves can thank each other. Because I know that neither this Federation has the means, nor this country, given its vulnerability. It's important that we are happy and satisfied among ourselves," said Bećiragić.
