Bećiragić resigns as head coach of the Bosnia and Herzegovina basketball team: Health is the most important thing

(Patria) - Adis Bećiragić has resigned from the position of head coach of the senior men's basketball team of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

In a letter addressed to the members of the Management Board of the Basketball Federation of BiH, Bećiragić cited health reasons, i.e. stress, as the primary reason for his resignation.

"There are several reasons, but the primary one is related to what is most important to all of us – health. Over the past three years, I have carried a lot on my own shoulders. And I somehow managed to get through it all because of the love I feel for our country and the national team. However, stress deeply affected me during the preparations and matches of EuroBasket. It affected my entire system; only I know what I went through, that is, what consequences I still suffer today. Not to mention that I have an operation coming up soon," Bećiragić stated.

At the club, as he adds, he will continue working because it is his livelihood, but he had to give up the national team where, as he said, he experienced the greatest joys, but also suffered the most when things did not go as we all would have liked.

"Health is everyone's priority. I believe I do not need to elaborate further and that you all understand me well. Therefore, I hope you will accept my resignation. I remain at the disposal of all well-intentioned people in Bosnian-Herzegovinian basketball, as well as my successor in the role of head coach, for advice or any other help," said Bećiragić.
