Bećiragić: Basketball has produced the greatest champions in this country

(Patria) - Following last night's triumph of Bosnia and Herzegovina against Cyprus in Tuzla with a score of 108:62 and qualification for EuroBasket, a press conference of the Bosnia and Herzegovina national basketball team was held. The media were addressed by selector Adis Bećiragić and national team player Adin Vrabac, reports Sportsport.ba.

- We are happy about the victory, we are happy that France also beat Croatia, which ultimately pushed us to EuroBasket. Thank you to everyone who was with us on this wonderful night.

It is nice to play anywhere in Bosnia and Herzegovina, we always have phenomenal support from Fanaticos and other spectators. The players played well, so they returned the emotions to the audience.

As for Castaneda, he has only been with us for three days and I think he is a player who will give us a lot.

He has good ball control, of course he still needs more games with this team. I wish for him to be with us for another eight years as I envisioned - said Bećiragić.

- I will ask that question to the players, if we want to go as tourists, not to worry, if we are going for the win, to go and fight. We will try to beat France - he added.

- I tried to escape the hall, but I couldn't, I had to go back, you know what you've been through and you wait for those two minutes.

Wishes for EuroBasket?

- I don't think about opponents, I have no particular wishes. After the war, we have problems in all pores of society, but basketball has produced the greatest champions in this country.

We carry a champion's DNA in our blood and we need to awaken it. We need to be among the best teams in Europe. Emotion is our greatest advantage - Bećiragić emphasizes.

- A great game, a great night, we knew we had to be serious. After everything, I can say that we have been together for three years and with the selector we are playing better and better and becoming recognizable in Europe.

We have great players, professionals, and we deserved this. We still have something to say and we believe we will do it.
