Bećiragić and Halilović agree: No relaxation before Cyprus

(Patria) - A press conference of the BiH basketball team was held in Limassol, where coach Adis Bećiragić and captain Miralem Halilović addressed the public ahead of tomorrow's match against hosts Cyprus.

Coach Bećiragić spoke to the journalists first, warning that the first game is the most important:

- I don't dare to comment in a way that we will easily win this game, because for me, every day is a new challenge. The fact is that we are playing against a team we beat twice in the qualifiers, and to be honest, that sometimes worries me a little because we beat them by a large margin. I would like the players to be aware that every next game is a new challenge and that you can both win and lose every next game. We give every opponent the respect they deserve, but of course, we must also respect ourselves and be aware that only effort and commitment can bring us victory.

Our captain Miralem Halilović also announced the match against Cyprus, explaining to journalists how they will compensate for Musa's absence and that a huge burden is now on Jusuf Nurkić:

- I can say about Jusuf that he has shown himself to be a great leader during these preparations, where he has shown responsibility in his play, as his form has risen to a higher level as the games progressed. He has shown why he is our best player and why he has been in the NBA league for years. He is also ready off the court to help the younger players who trust him as a team leader due to his great career, and I am glad he is with us. As for the match, I expect us to win because we are a better team, but we must not think that the victory will come by itself. They are the hosts, they will surely give their best, but I repeat, the quality is on our side and we want to open Eurobasket with a victory.
