(Patria) - Young BiH Paralympian Ismail Barlov (13) competed in his second discipline (50 meters breaststroke) at the Paris Paralympic Games and qualified for the final from first place.
He competed among seven semi-finalists in the first qualifying group.
A total of the eight best from two qualifying groups (seven competitors each) qualified for the final, and our Ismail Barlov had a fantastic race and won the qualifiers.
Barlov took first place, convincingly ahead of all rivals. He recorded a time of 1:04.06, which is already enough to qualify for the final, even though the second semi-final race is yet to be held.
Second place was taken by Mexico's Tronco Sanchez with a 3.27-second deficit behind our young competitor, while third place was taken by his compatriot Zarate Rodriguez with a 5.91 deficit.
Overall, counting both semi-final races, Barlov recorded the third-best time among all competitors, and we hope our young swimmer will achieve an Olympic medal.
The final is scheduled for tonight at 6:35 PM with a live TV broadcast on BHRT.
