(Patria) - Madžid Šošić, a midfielder for Hajduk, received a call-up from the coach of the Bosnia and Herzegovina "A" national football team, Sergej Barbarez, for the upcoming friendly matches against England and Italy, the Croatian first division club announced today.
Bosnia and Herzegovina will play England in Newcastle on June 3rd and Italy in Empoli six days later.
Šošić is a regular member of the Bosnia and Herzegovina U-21 national team.
"He had an excellent season which he spent on loan at our partner club Kalcer Radomlje. He played a total of 34 matches in Slovenia, scoring ten goals and providing three assists," stated Hajduk.
Talented first-team player David Vuković from Banja Luka's Borac cancelled his participation for Bosnia and Herzegovina in the matches against England and Italy this morning, stating "he cannot be concentrated and in optimal form due to comments" after yesterday's final match of the Bosnia and Herzegovina Cup against Zrinjski, in which the team from Mostar triumphed (1:0, 2:0 aggregate) and won the trophy.
