(Patria) - Sergej Barbarez appeared before journalists for the second time today as the Dragons' coach.
After being introduced as Savo Milošević's successor last month, today he dictated the names of the players he will count on for his debut appearance against England at St. James' Park and in the duel with Italy.
Barbarez's squad differs significantly from the one announced by Milošević before the Euro 2024 playoffs, writes Faktor.ba.
It omits several players who were previously regular starters (Miralem Pjanić, Ibrahim Šehić...), but includes the names of some new players who could form the backbone of our team in the future.
It is worth noting that Amar Dedić is also absent from the squad due to injury.
For the upcoming matches, Barbarez has called up the following players:
Goalkeepers: Nikola Vasilj (St. Pauli), Kenan Pirić (AEK Larnaca), Osman Hadžikić (Velež);
Defense: Jusuf Gazibegović (Sturm), Sead Kolašinac (Atalanta), Anel Ahmedhodžić (Sheffield United), Dennis Hadžikadunić (HSV), Ermin Bičakčić (Braunschweig), Nikola Katić (Zurich), Stjepan Radeljić (Rijeka), Tarik Muharemović (Juventus);
Midfield: Rade Krunić (Fenerbahce), Benjamin Tahirović (Ajax), Dal Varešanović (Rizespor) Denis Huseinbašić (Köln), Ivan Bašić (Orenburg), Armin Gigović (Midtjylland), Dženis Burnić (Karlsruher), Haris Hajradinović (Kasimpasa);
Attack: Edin Džeko (Fenerbahce), Ermedin Demirović (Augsburg), Haris Tabaković (Hertha), David Vuković (Borac).
The Dragons will visit England in Newcastle on June 3rd, and six days later in Empoli, we will play against Italy.
