Barbarez ahead of the match against Italy: We believe in these guys

The Bosnia and Herzegovina national football team plays against Italy tomorrow, and our coach Sergej Barbarez previewed the match.

- We want to have opponents like this, to have experience against big national teams. Now it's the end of the leagues and many players are missing in this unfavorable June term. We are looking forward to these matches. They will bring us a lot, and we will see that later - said Barbarez, reports Reprezentacija.ba.

When asked how we will play tomorrow, whether it will be defensive again like against England, he answered:

- We need realism regarding our football. I won't get tired of repeating that. We played against England and Italy. It's not easy to endure.

We are new, the players are new, many injuries, many changes, the term, and all that plays a role. In our eyes, the reason for the defeat was certainly a lack of strength because we are not in the training process.

If we had been complete, perhaps we would have had five to seven percent more possession of the ball. Our concentration is focused on stability and a new spirit. Miracles cannot be expected in the first match, not even in a year.

The impression is that our team always plays well against strong rivals.

- We have only been here for 12 days with these guys. We believe in them, and that's why they are here. We are missing 13 or 14 players, and even much stronger national teams would have problems with that. Who knows how it would have gone against England if there hadn't been a penalty. And that foul before our foul, and two touches, and VAR is called in a friendly match.

For about 60 minutes, it wasn't bad. However, with the drop in strength, concentration also drops, and that's why these mistakes happen. This term brings its headaches, but we gladly use it, and this experience will mean a lot to us - said Barbarez.

He also touched upon the debutants, of whom there were six against England.

- The goal is to create a national team that will play together for 10 years. Today, we have 17 or 18 players here. There were many things that didn't go our way. There won't be many changes or passing pages. We will focus on 25, 28 guys, and our goal is for them to play together for five, six, or 10 years - he stated.

He did not want to talk about the lineup for the "Azzurri", the current European champions.

- Let's leave something for you to find out on the field tomorrow. We won't change much because we are not proponents of change. There will be some rotations, but we will try to maintain the system of play and the way because we believe we are going in the right direction - Barbarez concluded.
