Barbarez: Of course we know the math of what wins and losses mean to us, but life goes on after the matches

(Patria) - On Saturday, November 15, the BiH national football team hosts Romania in Zenica, and on Tuesday, November 18, we play away in Austria.

With two wins in these two matches, we would qualify for the World Cup as group leaders.

The first question was posed to coach Sergej Barbarez by the Romanian media:

Do you feel pressure and did you sleep well?

"Of course I slept well and I have a good feeling - without that, I wouldn't be a coach. Every day brings a smile to my face, and that's how we'll be in Zenica too," Barbarez replied.

"Of course we know the math, we know what wins and losses mean, but we know what the goal and plan are. But life goes on after the matches, and we will deal with this job. It is a privilege to have pressure, and whoever cannot handle it should not be in this job," said the coach.

He said that the plan is to win tomorrow's match, and that work has been done on the tactical and psychological readiness of the players.

What do you think about the expansion, Europe didn't get too many spots, Italy got through, and some weaker teams advanced?

"I would most like to answer that question on November 19, but I am for everyone having a chance to participate, even if it's Haiti, they deserve to participate too."

Coach, do you think the battle will be fought mostly in midfield?

"Certainly, we are thinking about what suits us best, how we should start the match, all of that makes a plan. Whether it will come to fruition or not is another story. Every desire is to have more possession of the ball. It's always golden when you have the ball, you can't concede a goal. Only then can we rest and create when you have the ball. The plan is there, with our fans who are our 12th player, I am sure it will be good."

What would you like to see repeated from the first match in terms of play?

"I would like us to repeat the entire match, there were many good segments. From a psychological standpoint, we scored early and played well. We were intense, it wasn't about who was playing what position, but who wanted to help their teammate. I constantly cite the example of Amar Dedić, who was dissatisfied that he wasn't offensive enough. But when we showed that he was the main factor with Sejo's help. These are things we see and analyze. I am known for liking to surprise the opponent, we like to try to be brave. We'll see. As for the cards, that doesn't concern us."
