Atletico and Arsenal drew in the first leg of the semi-final

(Patria) - There was no winner in the first leg of the Champions League semi-final between Atletico and Arsenal tonight in Madrid.

The Gunners took the lead from a penalty towards the end of the first half, writes arenasport.

Zubimendi passed to Gyokeres in the penalty area, Hancko pushed him with his hands and brought him down, and the referee pointed to the spot.

Gyokeres was a sure penalty taker.

Alvarez equalized in the 56th minute, also from 11 meters.

After a corner and a shot, White handled the ball. Initially, no penalty was awarded, but after reviewing the monitor, a spot-kick was given.

Atletico then continued to threaten and came close to a comeback when Griezmann hit the crossbar in the 63rd minute.

Ten minutes before the end, referee Danny Makkelie awarded another penalty to Arsenal, but overturned that decision after reviewing the footage.

There were no further changes to the score. The second leg will be played on May 5 in London.
