(Patria) - The brilliant Swede Armand Duplantis has broken the world pole vault record for the tenth time in his career.
Just 20 days after winning his second Olympic gold medal, with a jump of 6.25 meters, Duplantis cleared 6.26 meters at the Diamond League meeting in Chorzow, Poland.
Duplantis secured victory in Chorzow after only three attempts, clearing 5.62 meters, then 5.92, and finally 6.00 meters.
American Sam Kendricks and Greek Emmanouil Karalis also cleared the same height, but on their second and third attempts, respectively.
Karalis cleared six meters for the first time in his career and withdrew from further competition, while Kendricks failed three attempts at 6.08 meters, leaving Duplantis alone on the runway.
His first attempt at 6.26 meters was unsuccessful, but the brilliant Swede succeeded on his second try.

This is the second world record set in Chorzow today. Earlier, Norwegian Jakob Ingebrigtsen broke the world record in the 3,000 meters.
Ingebrigtsen completed the distance in 7:17.55, improving the previous record of Kenyan Daniel Komen, who ran 7:20.67 in Rieti 28 years ago, by more than three seconds.
