Antonio Tomić assumes the position of Secretary General of the Olympic Committee of Bosnia and Herzegovina

(Patria) - The President of the Olympic Committee of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Davor Komšić, today in Sarajevo signed a management contract with the newly elected Secretary General of the OC BiH, Antonio Tomić, who officially assumed the duty of managing the professional service of this institution.

On that occasion, Komšić emphasized the importance of continuous development and adaptation to the modern needs of the sports system.

"Modernization, flexibility and self-sustainability of the system must be the focus of the future activities of the Olympic Committee of BiH. I congratulate the new Secretary General on his election and wish him much success in his work. I also wish to express my gratitude to the outgoing Secretary General, Said Fazlagić, who during the last three terms initiated numerous processes and laid quality foundations that will enable their further improvement," Komšić stated.

Tomić thanked for the trust shown, emphasizing that he will direct his mandate towards improving the work of the institution and strengthening support for Bosnian-Herzegovinian sports.

"I am confident that we will jointly find the best solutions and apply quality practices that will contribute to the future functioning of the Olympic Committee of BiH. I am ready to work in accordance with the plans, decisions and guidelines of the OC BiH bodies and to organize efficient work of the professional service while ensuring quality, timeliness and legality in its operations. My key goals will be to increase the number of athletes and teams from Bosnia and Herzegovina at the Olympic Games and other major competitions, and to create conditions for winning Olympic medals," Tomić stated.

The appointment of the new Secretary General marks the beginning of a new period of activity for the Olympic Committee of Bosnia and Herzegovina, with a special focus on modernizing work, strengthening institutional capacities and creating the best possible conditions for the development of sports and achieving top sports results on the international stage, the Olympic Committee of BiH announced.
