The nineteen-year-old Italian successfully converted pole position into victory, finishing ahead of Ferrari's Lewis Hamilton and Red Bull's Isack Hadjar.
The race began with major problems for Max Verstappen. The Dutchman failed to start as his car remained stationary on the grid, while other drivers passed him by.
Although he managed to get the car moving later, Red Bull soon ordered him back to the pits, ending his race at the very start.
Most of the race passed without major excitement, but the situation changed in the 60th lap when Lance Stroll spun and hit the protective barrier.
A safety car then came out on track, and all drivers took the opportunity to pit.
After the race was restarted in the 65th lap, further drama ensued.
In the very next lap, Charles Leclerc lost control of his Ferrari at almost the same spot as Stroll and ended up in the barrier.
Leclerc reported brake problems after the incident.
Due to damage to the track and protective barriers, the race was soon stopped with a red flag, and drivers returned to the pits.
After the restart, there were no changes at the top of the order. Antonelli safely brought the race to a close ahead of Hamilton, while the final podium spot went to Hadjar.
Pierre Gasly missed out on the podium after an earlier penalty dropped him from third to seventh place, reports Sportklub.
