American athlete competing in Paris has no money for rent

(Patria) - Veronica Fraley, a representative and junior champion of the USA in athletics, shared an incredible story on social media the day before the start of the athletics competition at the Olympic Games in Paris.

Fraley will compete in the discus throw event, and in her post on X, she stated that she does not have enough money to pay her rent.

"I am competing in the Olympic Games, and I cannot pay my rent. My school only pays 75 percent of my rent, while it gives American football players (who have won nothing) enough to buy new cars and houses.

Thank you all for the messages of support, but I want to clarify that my irritation is not because of the school itself, but because of the rules that prevent me from earning as much as I am worth as a college-level athlete, such as the 'NIL' rules (introduced so that students can also be paid for athletic achievements, editor's note), which favor popularity over performance quality," Fraley said.
