Amel Tuka in training in South Africa: I want to achieve top form before the Paris Olympics

(Patria) - Amel Tuka is in training in South Africa. The training is focused on the Olympics which will be held in Paris this year. It is a specially equipped sports center at a higher altitude that provides all the necessary conditions for achieving top form.

"I am here with my coaches. We are working hard. I feel great, and I hope, God willing, that we will achieve all our goals, which is to achieve top form for the Olympics which will be held in France in August this year. The injuries I had last season have been completely healed, and now I am training at full strength. I receive many messages from Bosnia and Herzegovina daily, thank you for the support you provide me, and see you soon," said Amel.

Before the Olympics itself, Tuka will compete in several athletics meetings to perform final readiness checks before this year's biggest competition, and to run the necessary Olympic qualifying standard, as he was prevented from doing so last year due to a minor foot injury.

Amel Tuka is the best Bosnian-Herzegovinian athlete, and one of our best athletes of all time.

With a time of 1:42.51 in the 800m achieved in 2015, he was the fastest man in the world that year, pushing the boundaries of sports theories up to that point. The success is evident from the fact that no one in Europe has run this time yet, and only two runners in the world have run it, one Kenyan and one American.

Amel Tuka is the third fastest white man in the world of all time. Tuka is the owner of a bronze and a silver medal at World Championships, and by winning a medal in 2015, his name was written in golden letters as the first Bosnian-Herzegovinian athlete to win a medal at any World Championship. By winning bronze at the European Championship in 2013, Tuka brought Bosnia and Herzegovina its first medal in this competition category as well.

Tuka also has two victories in the prestigious Diamond League and achieved 6th place at the 2021 Olympics. The next goal is the World Championship which will be held in August this year in Budapest, and then preparations for the 2024 Olympics in Paris.
