Alić hero of Željezničar in Posušje, Velež and Borac share points in Mostar

(Patria) - The last two matches of the second round of the WWin League of Bosnia and Herzegovina have been played. Posušje hosted Željezničar at their ground, and the match ended with a score of 0:1.

The home team drew against Široki Brijeg in the previous round, while the Blues played a draw against Radnik from Bijeljina.

At the very opening of the match in Posušje, the home players had an excellent chance, but Alić distinguished himself with a fantastic save. About fifteen minutes into the game, Maksimović's players had slightly more possession, but after a counter-attack, the home defender reacted well in front of Konings, and a good chance for the Blues from Grbavica was missed.

The first shot on target was seen in the middle of the first half, when the robust Raužan shot, but Muftić was well-positioned and intervened safely. A truly modest football performance in the match from Posušje.

Seven minutes before the end of the first half, Raužan skillfully pulled away on the right side, then shot, but Muftić distinguished himself with a good save. Two minutes before the end, Alić shot slightly wide of Ćeman's goal.

Željezničar players opened the second half better. First, after a good move, Alić delivered an excellent cross for Konings, who headed the ball against Ćeman's crossbar. In the 59th minute, the Blues took the lead – the inspired Alić shot from a difficult position and scored to give his team the lead.

About fifteen minutes before the end of regular time, an excellent cross came in for Kreković, who shot from a fantastic position just wide of Muftić's goal. A great chance for the home team.

A few minutes later, Šošić skillfully maneuvered in front of the Posušje defenders and stole the ball, which later reached Krpić. He shot powerfully, but Ćeman briefly parried the ball, which came to Šabić, whose shot the Posušje goalkeeper saved without major problems.

The winner could have been decided in the 85th minute when substitutes Šabić and Radovac combined, and Radovac shot just wide of Posušje's goal. It was a clever attempt by the experienced midfielder.

Željezničar players organized a textbook counter-attack in the second minute of stoppage time when Peixoto set up Krpić, who went one-on-one, but Ćeman emerged victorious from that duel.

Posušje will visit Radnik in the next round, while Željezničar will host Rudar at home.

At the same time, at 9:00 PM, the derby of the round was played in Mostar, where Velež and Borac faced each other, and the match ended with a score of 1:1.

At the start of the match in Mostar, the Rođeni threatened first – Lauš tried, but Jurkša reacted well and saved his shot. The visitors had their first chance in the 14th minute when Hrelja played for Juričić, who shot over Velež's goal from a very difficult situation. The best chance was seen five minutes later, when Hrelja shot, but the post was the home team's ally. The inspired Hrelja tried again, but Dizdarević saved his shot without problems.

At the very start of the match, the visitors took the lead. After a big mistake in Velež's defense, the ball reached Savić, who scored a fantastic goal into the home team's net, giving Borac the lead.

After the visitors from Banja Luka took the lead, Velež players played more offensively and threatened through Đurić, but Jurkas saved his shot fantastically. However, in the 65th minute, there was no salvation for the young goalkeeper – Ziljkić delivered an excellent cross, and Mešić headed it even better, causing an eruption of delight among the home fans. It is worth mentioning that until the end of the match, Raca, Nukić, and Ziljkić had attempts, but those shots did not seriously threaten the goalkeepers in tonight's match.

Velež will play against Široki Brijeg at Pecara in the next round, while Borac will host Zrinjski, writes scsport.ba.
