Adriatic Metals BiH: Final preparations for the start of production at the Rupice mine

(Patria) - The Vareš project of Adriatic Metals BiH is one of the most significant development and economic projects in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The company points out that significant progress has been made in construction over the past few months, and that the works are entering the final phase. This is confirmed by the video report which provides an overview of the results achieved in preparation by the end of September 2023.

Continuous water recirculation

Work on excavating the lower and upper portals at the Rupice mine site in Vareš has been finalized, and the first ore was excavated in July 2023. Ore from the development areas is currently being stockpiled, while chamber mining will begin in January. The construction of the ore processing plant is also progressing well, with about 50% of the piping and 70% of the flotation cells installed so far.

At the Rupice mine and the ore processing plant, water will be fully recycled and reused.

- We have engaged five experts who are continuously monitoring the mine's water recirculation system, the first of its kind in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The intention is to recycle water at a 100% rate at our sites within six months of the start of production and to fully automate this process - states Paul Cronin, General Manager of Adriatic Metals BIH.

Road and rail infrastructure

Work has also been in full swing on cleaning and renovating the railway line, with a special emphasis on the Dabravine section, north of the Breza Municipality. - The focus has also been on the design of works for the railway station, on which we are intensively cooperating with the Zagreb Institute ZGI. The Vareš Mejdan station is also taking its final shape - a new roof has been installed, and finishing works on electrical installations and flooring are to follow – notes Cronin.

In September, about 90% of the work on preparing the access road was also completed, including the installation of a protective fence along certain parts of the road. The company also made a donation worth almost 90,000 KM for the renovation of the Križ-Sastavci road section, 2.7 kilometers long, which will significantly facilitate the daily lives of the citizens of the Vareš Municipality.

Adriatic Metals BiH has also concluded important agreements for handling containers and bulk cargo at the port of Ploče, which the company will use for exporting products. – We are also making progress in renovating the warehouse at the port of Ploče – concluded Cronin.
