The Cabinet of the President of Montenegro states that they have been informed that the ANB is investigating the credibility of information regarding a possible threat to Milatović's security.
"The Cabinet of the President of Montenegro has been informed that the credibility of information regarding a possible threat to the security of President Milatović is being investigated.
We have not received any further details. We have been informed that the competent authorities have taken the matter into consideration and are processing it, and we are awaiting further information," stated the Office for Public Relations of the President of Montenegro.
The Police Directorate states that Milatović's security is not currently threatened, but that they are verifying information about this possibility, without disclosing further details due to the nature of the information.
A source for Vijesti.me, which reported this information this morning, stated that the ANB was informed about the potential assassination attempt on Milatović from two sources connected to two Western Balkan countries, and that the alleged organizer was a retired officer of a former army in the region, and the immediate perpetrator would be a person from Montenegro.
The Police Directorate emphasized that the president's security measures were already at a significant level before the information about the alleged assassination attempt.
