Kovacevic: Nobody is ready for the conflict created by politicians

Considering the ongoing harsh nationalistic rhetoric, calls to war, referendum that are causing a great deal of fear in BiH, professor of Faculty for Criminology and Security Goran Kovacevic has warned that demonstration of nationalism on one side can only cause the same response from the other side.

Kovacevic said for Radio Slobodna Evropa that nobody is ready for the conflict, yet the politicians are working hard to create one.

- An exercise with police forces of another country in which 'equality character' was put between Serb people in the RS and Serbia is problematic as regards nationalistic tensions before the elections. There's no positive politics, and the negative is rather obvious. Nationalism is growing – of Bosniaks, Serbs and Croats. Therefore, any nationalistic option that is calling to war can only strengthen nationalism in all three peoples in BiH, Kovacevic said.
