The HQ of the Democratic Front in Sarajevo hosted a joint meeting of SDP BiH and DF delegations led by their presidents, Nermin Niksic and Zeljko Komsic.
The participants of the meeting defined the activities aimed at gathering of all left and civic political options, non-governmental organizations, intellectuals, and the youth – to a united front that will work to topple the existing nationalist oligarchy.
Coordination and regular meetings of the joint delegates clubs have been also agreed upon by the participants.
The group asserted that the existing government at all levels is leading the country to abyss, new divisions and entirely unpredictable future.
Should it persist, such situation could make us detour from our road to the EU and NATO, while the citizens will continue to face economic and social collapse. Continually replayed nationalistic mantra could easily lead the country to renewed nationalist divisions and conflicts.
The group also discussed modalities of cooperation within the united front, with 3 main goals in mind:
1. To preserve Bosnia and Herzegovina, the state of equal citizens and peoples, from any new divisions by national affiliation that would segregate people in tribal ghettoes;
2. To topple the existing nationalist concept of government at the next elections 2018;
3. To offer concrete programs and projects to BH citizens, which would recover the dignity of the unemployed, pensioners, workers and young population, and give them hope that this country can do better.
- Unless this is achieved in 2018, we are afraid that will be the end of Bosnia and Herzegovina that we want, the one that the generations before us had fought for!
An activity plan of joint action of the left civic, patriotic bloc was also adopted in this meeting.
