Mijatović: Dodik’s moves are not a political campaign, they are dangerous things

We are still talking about second and third order citizens

(Patria) - Vojin Mijatović, Vice President of the SDP BiH, spoke for TV Hayat about the current political situation in BiH. He commented, among other things, on the moves of BiH Presidency member Milorad Dodik, as well as statements coming from senior political officials from neighboring countries.

Speaking about the small number of Bosniaks and Croats in the RS, and Serbs in the FBiH, he pointed out that a large number of people displaced by the war live abroad. He believes that their
voting in the upcoming elections is the greatest act of patriotism.

- We are still talking about second and third order citizens. We do not touch on social and economic issues. The war of the 1990s left a small number of Bosniaks and Croats in the RS entity, as well as Serbs in FBiH. As many as 60,000 Banja Luka residents live in Scandinavia.

If they registered to vote in Banja Luka, nothing would be the same. All our people around the world must understand that voting in the 2022 General Elections is the greatest act of patriotism, said Mijatović.

When asked about the unification of pro-Bosnian parties, Mijatović said that unity is very important when it comes to preserving the state.

- We are BH representation of different political parties. Although there are ideological differences between us, we said to put it all aside, because the focus is on preserving BiH. I am optimistic when it comes to change. People are sick of this situation. We have a deep political crisis, so it is difficult to tell whether it is the right time to start the campaign or not.

Čović started a circus around the Election Law, and Dodik continued with his attitude towards the High Representative. Such atmosphere of agitation suits them, he said. Mijatović says that Dodik’s moves are not a political campaign. He claims that these are ‘dangerous things’, and like most people from our country, Mijatović expects a reaction from the Prosecutor's Office of BiH.

- He is ready to sacrifice peace in order to keep himself free. He is aware that criminal cases on crime and corruption await him. The BiH institutions must solve Dodik's problem, while the
international community has an obligation to sanction Dodik's regime for crime and corruption.

Until the NSRS decisions take effect in six months, there is no legal basis for criminal sanctions. However, there are elements of the crime of attacking the constitutional order. The question is
why the Prosecutor's Office of BiH did not call Željka Cvijanović for questioning, who signed the decree on the proclamation of the unconstitutional Law on Medicines and Medical Devices of RS.

The judiciary is influenced by political parties, which undermines the rule of law. I count on the honorable people in the judiciary, Mijatović points out in an interview with Hayat.

When it comes to the recent statements of the Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, Mijatović thinks that they reflect personal interests of politicians from countries that are already in the EU.

- It is a pure political interest to strengthen his position within the EU. We are still a suburb of the EU and it is used by populists like Milanović, Orban and other right-wingers for their own interests. I think we should sit down and talk, especially with EU countries. We cannot respond to darkness with darkness, no matter how difficult it is for us, we need to talk.

As demanding as it is, I am always in favor of a dialogue, but I am also always in favor of a strong answer, especially to clowns like Vulin in Serbia and the ‘late’ Social Democrat Milanović, he says.

They say that people in the region, but also in BiH, live quite normally, regardless of the psycho-outbursts that politicians like Zoran Milanović or Aleksandar Vulin have.

- Such statements are for psychiatric expertise. We are constantly racing over who will respond first, but we need to let them talk to the wall and ignore them. I do not see the end of the current
political situation soon, I think that we will enter the elections with this atmosphere, and only after the elections will there be changes when certain political parties will fall.

We will endure psychological torture until October next year, Mijatović pointed out.
