The Social Democratic Party of Bosnia and Herzegovina wants to warn in time that for us any agreement between the President of the Republic of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan and the President of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić on Bosnia and Herzegovina is not binding.
'Bosnia and Herzegovina has its own institutions, which, despite numerous shortcomings and problems in functioning, are still our state institutions. Only they confirm sovereignty and independence, which is why they must be maintained and respected. Bosnia and Herzegovina will not serve as cannon fodder to anyone and we will not be the subject of decision like at the Congress of Berlin. Therefore, any agreement between the leaders of two foreign countries on mediation, as well as the announcement that they will bring alleged ethnic leaders to the same table in Belgrade or Istanbul, or outside Bosnia and Herzegovina, is not and cannot be the road to protection of BiH state institutions. Decisions on Bosnia and Herzegovina must be made in its Parliament, and not in Belgrade, Zagreb and Istanbul residences', the SDP said in a statement.
They called on the Republic of Turkey to follow the path of NATO allies of the United States of America and impose sanctions on Milorad Dodik, his financiers, but also on the actors from Serbia who cooperate with Dodik. This is an ideal opportunity for Turkey to confirm in practice its declarative support for Bosnia and Herzegovina.
'Sanctions against the destroyers of Bosnia and Herzegovina and those who support them, instead of giving a boost to the dissolution of Bosnia and Herzegovina by reducing the solution to the crisis to the agreement of tribal leaders, shows who are the friends of our country and its citizens. After all, what kind of agreement in favor of Bosnia and Herzegovina can be achieved with Aleksandar Vučić?
Regardless of extra-institutional attempts to devalue the state capacities of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Turkey, Serbia and Croatia must know that any changes to the BiH Constitution require the hands of opposition parties that have gathered at the initiative of the SDP BiH around unique principles of state protection. Therefore, an agreement of the alleged tribal leaders is not an option, and the unblocking of institutions and negotiations in the BiH Parliament are the only right path for our country. The SDP will not give up even a millimeter of the position that Bosnia and Herzegovina is to be decided on in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and that all negotiations are just an introduction to the only binding discussion in the Parliament of Bosnia and Herzegovina', the SDP said in the statement.
