The proposal by Federal Prime Minister Fadil Novalic for Supervisory Board of Aluminij Mostar to be a uninational board  consisting solely of HDZ personnel was passed by SBB ministers and HDZ. Ministers from his mother party SDA all voted against the proposal.

This move has additionally weakened Novalic's position with SDA.

For the new uninational Aluminij's supervisory board, Novalic proposed Dalibor Milos, Zdenko Klepic and Zoran Pandzo. They are all close with HDZ BiH. Patria is in possession of the decision about appointment of the dubious supervisory board of Aluminij.

Even SDA's president Bakir Izetbegovic previously tried to oppose to Novalic's proposal, but the Prime Minister would not listen.

Reactions of HDZ's finance minister Jelka Milicevic during a government's session speak a good deal about the basis for Prime Minister's decision; the fact that he appointed a uninational board at the request by HDZ. Aluminij is one of the financer's of HDZ.

- SDA and SBB ministers voted against the proposal. HDZ voted in favor. Then Finance Minister Jelka Milicevic protested; she reminded Prime minister that, 'that's not what they agreed upon'. Following a consultation between the prime minister and some ministers from SBB, the voting dynamics changed, our source from the government explained.

- Prime Minister's proposal was eventually adopted by HDZ BiH and SBB ministers. SDA ministers voted against, our source added.

During Niksic's mandate (SDP), Aluminij's supervisory board was multinational.
