OFFICIAL DATA: 6,043 fewer employees in one year, while the number of pensioners increased by 11,232

(Patria) - The Tax Administration of the Federation of BiH informs the public that the collection of public revenues in 2025 showed a growth trend and that taxpayers in the Federation of BiH paid a record 8,771,286,144 KM in public revenues in the period January – December 2025, which is an increase of 821,652,900 KM, or 10.34%, compared to January – December 2024.

As of December 31, 2025, the number of active business entities, including business units and branches in the Federation of BiH, is 134,788, while as of December 31, 2024, the number of active business entities, including business units and branches in the Federation of BiH, was 131,711.

The number of employees by employee residence as of December 31, 2025, is 545,409. According to the official records of the Tax Administration of the Federation of BiH, as of December 31, 2025, 176,664 employees, or 32.39%, are up to 35 years of age, and 368,745, or 67.61%, are over 36 years of age. As of December 31, 2025, in the Federation of BiH, 302,625 employees, or 55.49%, are male and 242,784, or 44.51%, are female.

Compared to December 31, 2024, when the number of employees in the FBiH was 551,452, 6,043 jobs were lost in one year.

Although the FBiH Government claimed that the labor market is stable, with a decrease in the number of employees and a constant increase in the number of pensioners, the system could collapse very quickly. Almost half of the budget for 2026, 4.3 billion KM, is planned solely for pensions, including a 17% increase.

According to official data from the Tax Administration of the Federation of BiH, as of December 31, 2025, a total of 110,286 fiscal devices were installed in the Federation of BiH, through which a total turnover of 7,127,838,877.88 KM was recorded in December 2025.

And the data show that at the end of December 2024, there were 453,900 pensioners, and in December 2025, there were 465,132, an increase of 11,232. Thus, in January, the difference between the number of employees and the number of pensioners is 80,277, which is an insufficient difference considering that pensions are mostly paid from contributions on salaries for Pension and Disability Insurance.

Compared to December 31, 2024, the number of fiscal devices increased by 4,623, and the recorded turnover in December 2025 is higher by 503,974,563.10 KM compared to December 2024.

In the period January – December 2025, a total turnover of 75,451,871,066.47 KM was recorded, representing an increase of 5,548,061,370.34 KM, or 7.94%, compared to the same period in 2024, when the total turnover was 69,903,809,696.13 KM.

The municipality with the largest number of fiscal devices as of December 31, 2025, is Centar Sarajevo Municipality, with 7,239 fiscal devices installed in its area. The municipality with the highest total turnover recorded through fiscal devices in December 2025 is Ilidža Municipality, with a total turnover of 581,183,568.93 KM recorded in its area.
