Vučić punishes Novi Pazar, no tranche from state budget, public administration and institution employees without salaries

(Patria) - The city of Novi Pazar has not yet received the installment of non-earmarked transfers from the republic budget for August, which has jeopardized the functioning of the local self-government, Sto plus radio learns unofficially.

This tranche is usually paid every 20th of the month, but Novi Pazar, as this media outlet unofficially learns, has not been paid even after five days.

Because of this, employees in the local self-government, as well as public institutions that are direct budget beneficiaries, such as the Preschool Institution "Mladost", have not received their salaries.

The City Administration did not want to confirm, but also did not deny that the installment of non-earmarked transfers had not been paid to them.

The withholding of funds from Novi Pazar comes after statements by Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić that "there is no more money for the State University and local self-government".

"Because they do not know how to manage the municipality, because they do not know how to manage all other things and create huge deficits," Vučić said at the end of July.

In addition to the fact that the funds have not yet been paid to them, a budget inspection has been in the City Administration of Novi Pazar for several days, checking the operations of the local self-government, as well as certain public enterprises.
