Government of ZDK adopts rebalanced Financial Plan of Health Insurance Fund of ZDK: Additional funds to reduce waiting lists

(Patria) - The Government of Zenica-Doboj Canton adopted the rebalanced Financial Plan of the Health Insurance Fund of ZDK (ZZOZDK) for 2025, as well as the proposal for the Financial Plan of the Health Insurance Fund of ZDK for 2026, with the Decision on the Execution of the Financial Plan of the Health Insurance Fund of ZDK for 2026, which should amount to 337,000,000 KM.

Prime Minister Nezir Pivić said after the session that the financial plan of this institution for the next year is higher by 18,500,000 KM or 5.8 percent than the adopted plan for 2025, while the rebalanced plan for the current year adopted today has increased the budget plan by 11,000,000 KM or 3.45 percent and amounts to 330,200,000 KM.

- The plan for next year's Financial Plan of the Health Insurance Fund of ZDK has been increased in the following items: primary healthcare by 4,413,581 KM, consultative-specialist healthcare by 1,533,590 KM, and hospital healthcare by 4,425,350 KM - a total of 10,372,350 KM.

In addition to funds for contracts, funds have been increased in the following items: medicines on the essential list by 500,000 KM, orthopedic devices and aids by 1,500,000 KM, treatment outside the canton by 700,000 KM, co-financing of tertiary healthcare in ZDK by 700,000 KM, spa treatment by 950,000 KM, magnetic resonance imaging for the Cantonal Hospital Zenica (KBZ) by 2,000,000 KM, CT diagnostics by 300,000 KM, reimbursement of sick leave by 1,200,000 KM, medicines by special approval by 700,000 KM, magnetic resonance imaging through public calls by 1,500,000 KM...

As you can see, the commitment of the Health Insurance Fund of ZDK for next year is to eliminate waiting lists, which represent a serious problem that has not been solved so far - said Prime Minister Pivić.

He announced that they will work on the principle that KBZ or the General Hospital Tešanj (OBT) resolve priority services, as much as their capacities allow, and if necessary, waiting lists will be resolved by providing services in other institutions, through public calls.

- I am sure that this will be resolved in the coming period, which has been the commitment of this government from the beginning, but the previous management of the Health Insurance Fund of ZDK did not resolve this issue adequately. This is a financial plan that is primarily focused on our citizens, for patients, and to provide the best possible healthcare service to our citizens - said Prime Minister Pivić.
