FBiH GOVERNMENT Over 23 Million KM from Budget for Culture and Sports This Year

(Patria) - The Government of the Federation of BiH approved almost 6.5 million KM from the Federal Budget for the support of programs and projects in the field of culture at this week's session. According to the adopted decisions, these funds are intended for the programs of four foundations in the field of culture, and for the support of projects of cultural societies in the Federation of BiH.

Of this amount, 5,418,000 KM is for the support of programs of four foundations, namely 3,460,000 KM for cinematography, 700,000 KM for publishing, 658,000 KM for music, stage, and visual arts, and 600,000 KM for library activities.

In addition, 1,050,000 KM was allocated for the financing of four cultural societies in the Federation of BiH. The cultural society Preporod was supported with 500,000 KM, Napredak with 340,000 KM, Prosvjeta with 150,000 KM, and La Benevolencija with 60,000 KM.

- I am pleased that we are increasing funds for culture in the Federation's budget every year. The directors of the foundations also spoke about this at the Government session, where they presented their plans for this year. The approved funds are intended for films, books, art, and other cultural projects. I am especially proud because these programs are primarily aimed at our young people, and that is our priority – said the Prime Minister of the Federation of BiH, Fadil Novalić.

He also reminded that these funds are not the total allocations for culture from the Budget of the Federation of BiH this year.

The Government of the Federation of BiH adopted decisions on the adoption of four spending programs in the amount of 16,750,000 KM at the beginning of last month. These funds from the FBiH Budget were allocated to the Federal Ministry of Culture and Sports and are intended for the support of culture, sports, and youth projects, as well as, among other things, the construction of swimming pools and cultural institutions.

- This financing of over 23 million is an investment in our future, because the development of sports and culture is an additional motivation for our young people. We are also doing this through many other projects, such as providing favorable housing loans for young people and, of course, through the most important thing, which is the continued strengthening of our economy, a prerequisite for new jobs – emphasized Novalić.
