Vispak's World's Largest Džezva Turns 20

(Patria) - 20 years ago, on the banks of the Neretva River below the Old Bridge in Mostar, a UNESCO World Heritage site of the highest category, 650 liters of Zlatna džezva were brewed in the world's largest džezva during the Old Bridge Diving competition, and the citizens of Mostar drank 8000 small cups of real Bosnian coffee. On this occasion, Vispak presented its džezva, which proudly entered the Guinness Book of Records as the world's largest džezva.

In 2004, based on a proposal from students, Vispak, with the help of the best coppersmiths from Baščaršija, crafted a džezva that can hold 650 liters of coffee. This džezva is now celebrating 20 years, during which it has traveled the world, representing Bosnia and Herzegovina, the customs and culture of our people, as a symbol of our country, from China to the USA, completing every event with the aroma and taste of real Bosnian coffee.

"I embarked on the endeavor of making this gigantic džezva at the suggestion of the VISPAK director, as the company wanted to spectacularly enhance the opening ceremony of the renovated Old Bridge in Mostar with its product, Zlatna džezva. The goal was not to achieve a Guinness World Record. The creation itself took three months, with the help of my apprentices Admir and Asim, and master Ramiz Kreho. I am happy that we are marking the 20th anniversary of the 'Guinness' džezva, which has traveled extensively around the world during this time and has faithfully represented our tradition and culture, with the hope and conviction that it will continue to grace many other important events and anniversaries in the future," stated master Nasir Jabučar, who, with his team, created the world's largest džezva.

Last weekend, the traditional International Old Bridge Diving competition was held, marking its 458th year of existence and the 20th anniversary of the bridge's renovation. The Guinness džezva, just as it was 20 years ago, stood in its usual spot, emanating the aroma of real Bosnian coffee and offering sips of enjoyment throughout the day.

"The Guinness džezva," as we affectionately call it at the company, is our pride and a significant partner in our marketing activities. It is an exceptional honor for us to be part of traditional stories, such as the Old Bridge Diving, because our Zlatna džezva tells the same authentic story. Together, side by side, even after 20 years, and likely for the next 20, we will joyfully stand by our identities, symbols, prides, and culture. With the people, authentically and with Bosnian-Herzegovinian charm, we promise that we will always proudly represent Bosnia and Herzegovina with the world's largest džezva," said Lejla Mehica Kadrić, brand manager of Zlatna džezva.

As a symbol of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the world's largest džezva will continue its journey of promoting the positive values, culture, tradition, and authenticity of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
