More than 26 million tourists visited Turkey in the first six months

(Patria) - In the period from January to June 2025, 26,388,831 tourists visited Turkey, representing a 1% increase compared to the same period last year.

Tourism revenues in the first half of 2025 reached 25.8 billion dollars, an increase of 7.6% compared to the previous year.

During the first six months of 2025, international visitors stayed an average of 10 nights, which is only 0.9% less than the previous year. However, the average spending per person per night was 106 dollars, representing an 8% increase compared to 2024.

Turkey, which according to UN Tourism data for 2024 ranks fourth in the world in terms of tourist arrivals, presented its tourism results for the first six months of 2025. At a press conference held in Istanbul, it was highlighted that Turkey achieved sustainable growth in key tourism performance indicators.

Mehmet Nuri Ersoy, Minister of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Turkey, announced that 26.4 million foreign tourists visited the country in the period from January to June 2025, representing a 1% increase compared to the same period last year.

“Despite numerous geopolitical challenges in the first half of the year, Turkey continued to achieve sustainable growth in tourism. Our strategic focus on diversifying destinations, offerings, and source markets is yielding clear results. Even in such demanding circumstances, we are recording growth in key indicators, especially in terms of revenue. We look optimistically towards the next six months and are confident that we will meet our annual target of 64 billion dollars in tourism revenue.”

In the first six months of 2025, the three largest source markets for Turkey were: the Russian Federation with 2.61 million visitors, Germany with 2.42 million, and the United Kingdom with 1.75 million tourists.

In addition, there was double-digit growth in the number of tourists from the American continent, numerous European competitors, as well as from Central Asian and Asia-Pacific countries.
