Record budget of 65 million KM adopted for Novi Grad Municipality, families with three or more children to receive financial aid annually

(Patria) - The Novi Grad Municipality Council adopted the budget of the Novi Grad Municipality for 2024 at today's session. The budget for the next year is a record and amounts to 65 million KM, which is an increase of five million KM compared to the rebalanced budget for 2023.

The budget envisages the completion of significant infrastructure projects such as the completion of works on the IX transversal, as well as the initiation of other projects that the citizens of Novi Grad themselves have recognized as particularly important for their lives.

The budget envisages that all families with three children will receive a one-time annual aid of 900 KM, families with four children 1,200 KM, and families with five or more children 1,500 KM.

It is also planned to solve the issue of water supply in the settlements of Ahatovići, Bojnik, and Rječica, which includes the construction of the Gornji Mihaljevići reservoir, for which 500,000 KM is planned. In Zabrđe, Sokolje, and Briješće, the complete sewerage system is planned, with funds to be allocated for design in the following year. Funds for the maintenance and construction of sports and children's playgrounds have been doubled.

Significant funds are also planned for solving the issue of stationary traffic, i.e., parking, lighting issues, as well as funds for assistance to severely ill individuals and families in need.

At the session of the Municipal Council, after 14 years, a new Statute of the Novi Grad Municipality was also adopted.
