RS Budget for 2025 Adopted in Amount Slightly Over Six Billion BAM

(Patria) - The National Assembly of the RS adopted at today's special session the RS budget for the next year in the amount of 6.070 billion BAM.

The RS budget is 260 million BAM or 4.5 percent larger than the framework of the budget rebalance for 2024.

At the same time, the Decision on long-term borrowing of the RS for 2025 was adopted. Thus, the RS budget can borrow long-term up to 862 million BAM.

- On the domestic market, 358 million BAM in long-term borrowing, and on the international market, 504 million in long-term borrowing - explained the Minister of Finance of the RS, Zora Vidović, addressing the RSNA.

The Decision on short-term borrowing through the issuance of treasury bills for 2025 was also adopted. According to the Law on Borrowing, Debt and Guarantees, the RS budget can borrow up to a maximum of eight percent of revenues realized in the previous fiscal year.

- Projected total budget revenues and receipts for non-financial assets amount to 5.086 billion BAM, of which 4.731 billion BAM relates to tax revenues - stated Vidović.

The deputies also adopted the Economic Reform Program for the period 2025-2027.

The RSNA is currently on a regular afternoon break, after which the deputies will continue their work with a discussion on the Proposal for Amendments to the Law on Income Tax.

This is the eighth item on the agenda, and the tenth is the "controversial" law - the Proposal for the Law on Amendments to the Law on the Budget System of the RS.

Because of this, the mayors of Banja Luka and Bijeljina, Draško Stanivuković and Ljubiša Petrović, with their supporters, protested yesterday and today in front of the buildings of the RSNA and the Government of the RS.

They claim that these two cities will receive six and four million BAM less next year from the distribution of VAT if this law is adopted.

The two of them entered the RSNA building this afternoon, demanded to address the deputies, but were not allowed into the assembly hall.
