Direct Flight Route Mostar - Istanbul Soon

(Patria) - The City of Mostar has announced the opening of a new flight route, to Istanbul. This was announced today at a meeting of representatives of the City of Mostar, the canton, the Turkish government, and representatives of the airline Pegasus.

The Mayor of Mostar, Mario Kordić, along with the Prime Minister of the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton, Marija Buhač, the Minister of Finance of HNC, Adil Šuta, the Director of Mostar Airport, Marko Đuzel, and the Executive Director, Ibrica Berberović, met at the City Hall with the Assistant Minister for Transport and Infrastructure of the Republic of Turkey, Enver Iskurt, and representatives of Pegasus.

The great potential that Mostar and Herzegovina have for the development of tourism and other branches of the economy was highlighted, and the possibility of establishing a direct flight route between Mostar and Istanbul was announced, according to the City of Mostar.

Kordić emphasized that it is extremely important for Mostar to be connected to Istanbul by air and that the City will be a partner in establishing this air route.

The Prime Minister of HNK, Marija Buhač, stated that tourism is a strategic branch of development for the canton and emphasized that the Government will support the Airport, its infrastructure projects, and the introduction of new flight routes.

The Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of the Republic of Turkey is also interested in introducing a flight route between Mostar and Istanbul.
