(Patria) - The association "Ruku na srce" held the final event of the project "No child without a gift package" today at the Bosnian Cultural Center, which was realized for the 15th time this year.
For fifteen years in a row, this project has brought joy to children from less fortunate material backgrounds, and this year it was marked by a special record, with the distribution of 5,000 New Year's gift packages to children from over 30 cities across Bosnia and Herzegovina.
In addition to distributing gift packages, the children had the opportunity to enjoy the New Year's play "Lumi in the World of Toys," which, through a warm and playful story about kindness, friendship, and the magic of childhood, reminds us of the true values of the holidays. The play brought smiles, laughter, and moments of genuine joy to the children. Volunteers from the "Ruku na srce" Association also prepared a series of creative workshops, games, and joint activities, through which the children had the opportunity to express themselves, socialize, and create memories, with the aim of remembering the last weekend of the year for its warmth, care, and sense of belonging.
This year, a little friend from the South Pole, Lumi the penguin, joined the volunteers and the "No child without a gift package" project, socializing with the children during the gift package distribution. His presence reminded the children that smiles and togetherness are the most precious part of the holidays, while the gift packages reached the hands of those who need support the most.
More than a hundred young volunteers worked diligently on the preparation and realization of the project over the past three months, showing through their time, energy, and dedication that humanity has a strong support base precisely in young people.
The realization of the "No child without a gift package" project has relied on the strength of community for fifteen years. The support of numerous donors, partners, institutions, educational institutions, companies, associations, sports clubs, and media has enabled the idea to grow into a lasting tradition.
Precisely through this joint support, the project grows year after year, reaches an increasing number of children, and confirms that social solidarity has real, visible strength when built together.
The president of the "Ruku na srce" Association, Jasmin Ćesir, emphasized the importance of the support from all donors and friends of the project: "Year after year, this project grows, gathers young humanitarians, and brightens the end of the year for children. The feeling of being part of someone's joy, as well as being part of a team that has been walking the path of humanity together for fifteen years, is indescribable," said Ćesir.
The "Ruku na srce" Association was founded in 2010 by a group of then-students, with the aim of providing assistance to those who need it most. The focus of the Association's work since its inception has been the support of families with lower material status in the Sarajevo Canton and throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina.
"I always gladly volunteer for the 'No child without a gift package' project. I see the project as an opportunity to do good and spend my free time meaningfully, together with other young people," said one of the long-time volunteers.
The association brings together young people who, in addition to their daily obligations, dedicate their free time to humanitarian work, acting under the motto: "We know we cannot change the world, but sometimes even a little is enough to make someone's world more beautiful."
