New Faces of Bosnian-Herzegovinian Poetry Presented in Sarajevo

(Patria) - The program "New Faces of Bosnian-Herzegovinian Poetry" was held today at the Europe House in Sarajevo.

The program was moderated by Asmir Kujović, who reflected on the essence and direction of the creative work of young Bosnian-Herzegovinian poets.

As part of the program, Vernes Subašić, an author from Zenica and winner of the "Slovo gorčina" award, presented his poetry.

As he pointed out, his third poetry collection is in preparation.

- I don't consider myself a poet, I am a passionate lover of poetry, and as a "reading residue" the inspiration for creating my own poems simply happened - Subašić stated.

Dejan Tešić also presented himself within the program.

- I am fascinated by the fact that through poetry we can express our views, and that is what guides me when I write my poems - said Kujović, adding that the young poets who presented themselves are a discovery in the world of modern poetry.

This program is a tradition of the Writers' Association of BiH to present young poets and support the promotion of their poetic expression within the International Literary Festival "Sarajevo Days of Poetry".

Otherwise, the project of the 64th International Literary Festival "Sarajevo Days of Poetry" was supported by the Federal Ministry of Culture and Sport, the Ministry of Culture and Sport of Sarajevo Canton, the City of Sarajevo, the Municipality of Novi Grad Sarajevo, and the company Canon Bosnia and Herzegovina.

This year's Festival runs until October 19, 2025, and will host numerous authors from the EU and the region.
