July sees a drop in the number of employed in FBiH by 2,037 people and lower public revenue collection

(Patria) - The Tax Administration of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina informs the public that taxpayers in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina paid 5,072,576,575 BAM in public revenues in the period January-July 2025, which is an increase of 475,124,390 BAM, or 10.33%, compared to the same period in 2024.

In July alone, 611,473,648 BAM was collected. According to the analysis of data for June and July, there is an evident drop in public revenue collection by 120,123,226 BAM. In June, 731,596,874 BAM was collected.

The application of a lower contribution rate for pension and disability insurance (PIO) and health insurance also began in July. Thus, compared to June, there was a drop in revenues from PIO/MIO and health insurance contributions.

In June, 293,320,680 BAM was collected for PIO/MIO, and in July, 246,729,948 BAM. For health insurance, 208,472,099 BAM was collected in June, and 174,220,774 BAM in July. Only for PIO/MIO and health insurance, 80,842,057 BAM less was collected in July.

In the same month, there was a decrease in the number of employed individuals. According to the place of residence of employees as of July 31, 2025, there were 545,018 employed. Compared to the published figure of employed individuals as of June 30, 2025, which was 547,055, the number of employed is lower by 2,037.

According to official records, the sectors that experienced a decrease in the number of employed include: education, textile production, coal and lignite mining, plant and animal production, hunting and related services, wholesale trade except for motor vehicles and motorcycles, clothing manufacturing, and other activities.

Sectors that saw an increase in the number of employed include: food and beverage preparation and serving, retail trade except for motor vehicles and motorcycles, land transport and pipeline transport, accommodation activities, computer programming, consulting and related activities, and other activities.

According to the official records of the Tax Administration of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina as of July 31, 2025, 171,862 employees, or 31.53%, are under 35 years of age, and 373,156, or 68.47%, are over 36 years of age. As of July 31, 2025, 303,517 employees, or 55.69%, are male and 241,501, or 44.31%, are female.
