In 2025, 12 billion and 177 million BAM collected, revenue growth due to inflation

(Patria) - Indirect tax revenues in 2025 amounted to 12 billion and 177 million BAM, an increase of 633 million BAM or 5.51% compared to the same period in 2024, when they amounted to 11 billion and 541 million BAM.

The Indirect Taxation Authority collected the largest amount of indirect taxes since the establishment of the institution. In 2025, there were no increases in indirect tax rates; revenue growth was conditioned partly by inflationary trends and partly by activities undertaken by the ITA.

After collecting indirect tax revenues, the ITA first processes VAT refunds to taxpayers who have legally exercised their right to a refund, and on this basis, the Authority refunded 2 billion and 202 million BAM to the economy in 2025. The remainder of the collected revenues went to beneficiaries.

Thus, net collected revenues distributed to beneficiaries in the period January-December 2025, namely the state, entities, and Brčko District, amounted to 9 billion and 974 million BAM, an increase of 525 million BAM compared to the revenues received by beneficiaries from the Single Account for the same period in 2024.

An amount of 1 billion and 20 million BAM was allocated for financing state institutions in 2025.

The Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina received a total of 5 billion and 510 million BAM, the Republika Srpska 3 billion and 86 million BAM, and the Brčko District 310 million BAM.

Based on the special toll for highway construction and the construction and reconstruction of other roads (0.25 BAM), the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina received an additional 249 million BAM, the Republika Srpska 165 million BAM, and the Brčko District 8 million BAM. The difference represents a reserve in a special toll account of 0.25 BAM.
