(Patria) - The highest delegation of the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce, the second largest chamber of commerce in the world, visited the seat of the Government of the Zenica-Doboj Canton (ZDC).

The Turkish delegation discussed economic cooperation between the Republic of Turkey and Bosnia and Herzegovina with the Prime Minister of ZDC, Nezir Pivić, focusing on the Zenica-Doboj Canton.

On behalf of the institutions of ZDC, the meeting was also attended by the Minister of Economy Samir Šibonjić, the Minister of Spatial Planning, Transport, Communications and Environmental Protection Adnan Šabani, the Minister of Finance Dženana Čišija, the Minister of Health Aida Salčinović, and the Speaker of the Assembly Ćazim Huskić.

The visit was organized ahead of the start of the 30th general BiH fair ZEPS 2024, whose partner country is the Republic of Turkey, and where 35 companies from all over Turkey will be presented.

Šekib Avdagić, President of the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce, thanked Prime Minister Pivić for the invitation for this chamber to organize the arrival of Turkish companies at the ZEPS fair.

He proudly announced that the electric SUV "Togg", the pride of the Turkish automotive industry, will also be presented at ZEPS for the first time outside Turkey's borders.

He emphasized that with its appearance at ZEPS, Turkey wants to send a message that BiH is suitable for investment and that companies from that country want to invest in BiH, especially ZDC, particularly companies oriented towards the European market, using the favorable geographical position of our country.

He also pointed out that the authorities in BiH should continue working on improving the investment climate, and especially speed up procedures for company formation and issuing work permits.

Prime Minister Pivić said that the institutions of this canton are open to all investors and that the Government wants to use all the comparative advantages of this region, such as a favorable geographical position, a strong industrial base, and good connectivity by railways and roads.

He wished a successful performance to the companies from Turkey, as well as to all fair participants, emphasizing that more than 700 business meetings during the five fair days will be an opportunity for networking and concluding business contracts.
