Turkey Sets New Tourism Records: 62.2 Million Visitors and 61.1 Billion Dollars in Revenue in 2024

(Patria) - Turkey has once again confirmed its position as one of the world's most desirable tourist destinations, achieving historic results in tourism.

In 2024, it hosted an impressive 62,269,890 visitors, representing a 9.8% increase compared to the previous year and even 20.3% more compared to 2019, the last year before the pandemic.

The previously set goal of 60 million visitors was surpassed, and the new target of 61 million, announced in October 2024, was also exceeded.

Furthermore, tourism revenue reached 61.1 billion USD, an 8.3% increase from the previous year. These results make 2024 the most successful year in the history of Turkish tourism.

The largest number of visitors continues to come from Europe, the Middle East, and Central Asia, while emerging markets – such as America, India, and China – are recording significant growth. Russia, Germany, and the United Kingdom remained the top three markets, while visits from the USA increased by 8.1%, from China by 65.1%, and from India by 20.7%.

The average stay of international tourists in Turkey was 10.7 days, while the revenue per visitor reached 972 USD. According to UN Tourism data, Turkey was among the top five most visited destinations in the world in 2023, and the record results in 2024 further confirm its status as a global tourism leader.
